From a few days walking up the Lysenfjord, before catching a ferry back to Stavanger. (Here's a map.)
Camping (sauvage) at Lac de Souliers. And, below, just below Col du Malrif and at Col Vieux. Sleeping high and lunching low kept us out of phase with most of the hut-to-hut walkers, and also got us much better light.
(More: Steve's pictures.)
Looking up the Mer de Glace, towards the Grandes Jorasses. We only took only the little train that goes there one way, down, and but took plenty of cable cars up too: below are the ridge from the Midi station, and (across the valley) the Le Brevent lift.
Tour du Mont Blanc
An improbable campsite on the way up to the Fenetre de Arpette, overlooking the Trient glacier.
Below, rainy walking along the Italian side of the massif. (We cheated a little with a bus in Switzerland, and skipped the southern part back to France.)
